Our little yellow jersey winner

Summer is closing too fast

Okay, so we want to be sure and keep this blog as up to date as possible. So I thought I would jump on and give you all an update as well. I know Heather wishes that she could post something or at least a picture everyday.

Please remember that when you click on the albums to the left you then have access to all our web albums which are being updated even more regularly than the blog text.

So Trek is an amazing little boy who is so well behaved and so fun. He is sitting up on his own and grabbing anything within his reach, and he has just started getting his first teeth. So mom and dad have to be careful how many fingers they let in his mouth since he chomps down on all things that get close.

I have finished off my racing season this last saturday with a 3rd place finish in the MN State Road Race. 51 miles and I held on for a good finish. Had to stop up a bit in my sprint for the line due to some other riders and so possibly could have done better, but still a good end to the year. So much better than the race the few weeks before where I had my first crash in a long time. You can see the lovely war wounds of that race in the bike racing album. Trek and Heather were at the race as well and it is great to have them there for handing up water bottles and the cheering support. As you can see above Trek was supporting in his own yellow jersey, and then thought dad's medal or I should say the ribbon was fun to chew on as he shows it off for the camera.

Well just a quick post and I hope to soon find some time to again compile all the best moments of our little boy laughing and making noise on a video that we will post to the blog as well. Take care all and feel free to comment to our postings and contact us anytime. We love to talk to people now through video chatting on the computer and would love for you to join as well. Ask if you have questions.

Till next post!!!!

The Schinke Update....

We are having a wonderful summer and are so blessed with an amazing boy!
As a family we've been going for walks and bike rides, bbq-ing with friends, hosting family visitors, lovin' on Trek, and of course watching the Tour de France!
Ben has been racing a lot and having a successful cycling season. He won his first race and some sprints, has been working hard at Lominger, and is an incredible father and husband!
Heather went back to work part-time in May at TranCentral, stays home with Trek on Wednesdays and Fridays (she LOVES those days!) and just continues to be in awe of little Trek!
Trek has been a busy boy...no teeth yet BUT he's found his toes, can sit by himself, loves jumping in his johnny jump up, reaches for everything and if he gets it--yep, it's in his mouth immediately! He also has a smile that melts our hearts!
Thanks to everyone who has been able to come meet Trek and hang out...we really appreciate it!

To see more photos of what we've been up to, click on the photo albums to the left!
Also, once you click on an album, you can see all of our pictures from that site...enjoy!

Blessings to you all! Ben, Heather & Trek (a lick from Maiah!)

Daddy loves his little boy

Fatherhood, wow what an adventure. Trek has been amazing, and I miss him everyday that I have to leave for work. Mom has to go back to work this week as well, and so Trek and I are continually praying that soon we will have a way that mom can stay home. Mom goes back to work on Thursday, and so dad gets to hang out with his son just the two of us all day on Thursday.

It has been such a joy to watch Trek grow. It is amazing to see how God gives life and allows for us to develop. It has been such in increase in my life to see my son and his mom interact as well. What an amazing thing I am blessed with. Things were very busy in the begining of his life with working at the church and my regular job and keeping up around the house. I was so missing being able to spend quality time with my little boy and beautiful wife. So as of two weeks ago now we have actually resigned at the church for a season to allow me to be home more with my family and be able to spend focused time when I am home. It has been so rewarding and relaxing. One of my favorite things to do is to go in and pray over my son each night as he sleeps so peacefully.

Also I am looking forward to a relaxing summer, and we are praying about where God will take us next. I am saving up now to be able to take my family on some camping excursions and some fun day trips on the weekends or on mom's days off. So I just thought I would sneak in a little blog here since it has been so long since I have typed. I am so proud of Heather though as she has really learned this blogging thing, and enjoys doing it. I hope all you that keep up with it are enjoying. Myself, I am trying to find time to work on the lawn and the house, and also doing a fair share of bike riding and racing. Little slower than last year however. Hope to be back on blogging again soon, and please all feel free to comment on our blog or send us any e-mails or stop by for visits.

Thanks for visiting Grandma and Grandpa!

We love you...

Hi, I'm Trek....

Can you believe I'm 4 weeks old already! We've been pretty busy feeding, sleeping and changing diapers, so finally we have some time to tell my birth story...
Mommy's contractions became pretty intense around 1am on Valentine's morning and by 3am her contractions were less than 3 minutes apart! Daddy rushed us to the hospital and we checked in around 3:45am, but they had to still fill the tub for our water birth and wait for the mid wife. Our nurse Christine started hooking Mommy up with a monitor so she could make sure Mommy and I were doing ok! She said Mommy was dilated to almost a 6! Mary our mid wife finally arrived, but had to get more info on us before we could move into the water. Well, Mary checked out Mommy again and she was at a 9 1/2 which had happened within 15 minutes! Mary told Mommy and Daddy that I was coming very soon and there wasn't any time for the tub...or drugs! So Mommy started pushing and with the help of oxygen (she had a really bad chest cold) and Daddy's awesome coaching, I came at 5:05am! Daddy cut my cord and I was put on Mommy's chest right away...ahhhhh I was so comfy and I loved all the kisses I got from Mom and Dad! We stayed in the hospital till Friday afternoon..it was nice to be taken care of by all the nice nurses and it gave Mom and Dad some time to rest and eat free meals! Many visitors came to meet me, but I kept my eyes closes for most of them! It was really nice to finally go home and see my new room...where now I sleep in my crib every night almost more than 4 hours at a time!
I hope to meet everyone and keep checking in to see our updates!

Stay up to date with our little guy

Hey everyone stay tuned into our Blog, and check out the new pictures we just posted of our little guy.

See the albums to the left. We have added some more to the original album and another album.

He is doing great and is such a little stud, and mom is doing well too. He changes so much everyday. If you want a specific picture you should be able to click on the picture in the album and look on the screen and there will be an option to download the full picture.

Thanks for looking and please keep us in your prayers as we continue to learn to become a family of one more.
